Mora de Rubielos
Overall, it is a very unique walled village, where it is worth stopping and strolling under its arches and walls, through its quiet streets and grand houses. One of the must-see attractions is the Castle-Palace of the Fernández de Heredia, an authentic stone mass that dominates the town and rises directly on a rocky platform. It is of surprising magnitude and dates back to the 14th century.
The Way of El Cid
The Way of El Cid, “a journey through the Middle Ages,” is a route across the Iberian Peninsula that transports us back to the 11th century when a Castilian knight named Rodrigo el Campidoctor, known as El Cid Campeador, crosses the walls of Valencia in conquest. The Camino del Cid passes through the 8 provinces mentioned in the Cantar del Mio Cid: Burgos, Soria, Guadalajara, Zaragoza, Teruel, Castellón, Valencia, and Alicante. This great route can be traveled on foot, by mountain bike, or by car, allowing us to enjoy beautiful places. Rubielos de Mora is included in the section known as “The Conquest of Valencia,” a route that starts from Cella (Teruel) to Valencia.
